What we did in 2025
Sport. The Rector’s Cup 2025 brought students together in six sports, and the “Healthy person – healthy nation” forum in Samarkand in February 2025 brought together nearly 1,000 students and staff. The “Healthy person – healthy nation – Urgench 2025” forum on 11–13 April 2025 brought more than 700 students of TUIT and its branches together for sport competitions and a heritage trip to Khiva.
Mental health. The Department of Psychological Support and Personal Development offered free counselling, group sessions and art therapy in the dormitories. Every Friday was a counselling day for women students and staff.
Health research and teaching. Through the Erasmus+ projects UzMedEn and TechReh, TUIT and European partners worked on medical engineering education and information technology in medicine. A TUIT team developed a 6-channel electrocardiograph with practising cardiologists.
Smoke-free campus. The campus remained smoke-free under the Smoke-Free Campus Policy; the Smoke-Free Campus Policy, approved on 30 August 2024, covers e-cigarettes and heated tobacco and allows no designated smoking areas.
