Summary
Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi measures the amount of low-carbon energy used on its main campus. In 2025 its own solar plants supplied 1,033 GJ of the University’s total energy use of 40,299 GJ, a share of 2.6%. The plants produced 981,288 kWh in total; 287,036 kWh were used on campus and 694,252 kWh were fed into the national grid.

How the share is calculated
Low-carbon energy used = solar electricity used on campus (287,036 kWh × 0.0036 = 1,033 GJ). Total energy used = 40,299 GJ (grid electricity, solar electricity used on campus, district heat, estimated vehicle fuel and natural gas; see the Energy use data page). Electricity fed into the grid is not counted, grid electricity is not counted as low-carbon, and no forest biomass is used.
Method and responsibility
The Department of Housekeeping and Landscaping reads the solar inverters and records monthly production, own use and the amount fed into the grid. Since 30 August 2024 the share of low-carbon energy is measured every year under the Sustainable Development Policy (TUIT-SP-01, paragraph 10) and the Energy and Carbon Management Policy (TUIT-SP-02, paragraph 16).
