The 17 Goals

What TUIT does for each of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with our figures for 2025 and the evidence behind them.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all UN member states in 2015, sets 17 goals for ending poverty, protecting the planet and making societies fairer. As a technology university, TUIT contributes most directly to quality education (SDG 4), industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9) and partnerships (SDG 17), but our teaching, research, campus and community work touch every goal.

Each page below describes our research, teaching, campus operations and partnerships for one goal, gives the key figures for 2025, and lists the evidence we publish for the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2027.

Research by goal

Of TUIT’s Scopus-indexed publications mapped to the SDGs, the large majority address SDG 9, followed by SDG 4 and SDG 3.
