SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth
TUIT prepares graduates for Uzbekistan’s fastest-growing sector and treats its own staff fairly.
At a glance
Research
TUIT research on the digital economy, fintech, e-commerce and labour-market analytics feeds into national IT programmes. Start-ups founded by TUIT graduates, such as the freight-technology company DataTruck, have attracted venture investment.
Teaching and students
The Career Centre and the “Kelajakka Qadam” centre, opened in February 2025, connect students with employers. The Spring Job Fair on 3 April 2025 brought more than 50 companies to campus, among them Uzbektelecom, Uzinfocom, Beeline, EPAM, Huawei, Uzcard and ZTE. Students prepare for international certifications such as Microsoft Azure and AI Fundamentals.
Campus
Every employee is paid at least the living wage for a family of four. Since 30 August 2024 the Fair Employment Policy has also written down the University’s wider rules: discrimination and forced labour are prohibited, outsourced workers have equivalent rights, the gender pay gap is measured every year, and staff can appeal on pay and rights. The University recognises the trade union and negotiates a Collective Agreement with it.
Community and partners
The Incubation Center links students to IT Park Uzbekistan, AloqaVentures and IT Park Ventures. The February 2025 forum on the start-up ecosystem brought universities, investors and companies together at TUIT.
