Research

TUIT researchers work on medical AI and diagnostics, health monitoring and telemedicine. With 15 practising cardiologists, a TUIT team developed a 6-channel electrocardiograph and a blood-oxygen monitor. The University also built speech-therapy software for children and adults with speech impairments.

Teaching and students

Through the Erasmus+ project UzMedEn, TUIT and European partners are developing a master’s programme and professional courses in medical engineering; TUIT staff trained at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. The Erasmus+ TechReh project brought partners from Italy, France and Lithuania to TUIT for an international conference on information technology in medicine.

Campus

The campus is smoke-free under the Smoke-Free Campus Policy. Students and staff have free counselling, and every Friday is a day of psychological and legal counselling for women. The Rector’s Cup 2025 covered arm-wrestling, volleyball, futsal, chess, table tennis and e-sports, and a TUIT student, judoka Irisxon Qurbonboyeva, represented Uzbekistan at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Community and partners

TUIT’s football pitches, courts and running track are shared with schools, lyceums and residents of the Bodomzor area. In October 2025 student volunteers visited children being treated for cancer.
