About sustainability at TUIT
Our strategy, who is responsible for it, the commitments we have made and how we report on them.
Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi (TUIT) was founded in 1955 and is Uzbekistan’s leading university for information and communication technologies. It teaches students at its main campus in Tashkent and at regional branches in Fergana, Nukus, Samarkand and Nurafshon. Its Urgench branch joined Urgench State University in 2025.
Sustainability at TUIT rests on one framework document, the Sustainable Development Policy for the period up to 2033, and seventeen thematic policies, approved by the University Council on 30 August 2024, that turn it into concrete obligations for energy, water, waste, plastics, procurement, food, land, equality, employment, public access, stakeholder engagement and transport. The Sustainability Committee coordinates the work, and the Department of National and International Rankings prepares the annual Sustainability and SDG Report.
