Strategy and Charter
The Sustainable Development Policy sets TUIT’s direction to 2033. These are its priorities, its targets and the way it is approved and reviewed.

Our framework document
The Sustainable Development Policy for the period up to 2033 (TUIT-SP-01) is the University’s framework document on sustainability. It was approved by decision of the University Council on 30 August 2024, together with seventeen thematic policies (TUIT-SP-02 to TUIT-SP-18), and replaced the Sustainable Development Policy to 2033 and Beyond adopted in 2023. The policy covers the main campus in Tashkent and all six branches, and it binds every employee and student as well as contractors working on University premises.
The policy describes sustainable development in practical terms: decisions on teaching, research, campus operations, procurement, employment and partnerships take their environmental, social and economic consequences into account, and the University reports openly on the results. Read the full text of the policy.
Four priorities
Teaching. Every student learns about sustainable development and the SDGs. The compulsory course in ecology and environmental protection is the foundation. Life Safety, Alternative Energy Sources and sustainability topics in specialised courses and final projects build on it.
Research and innovation. TUIT supports research on climate, energy, water, the circular economy and the use of information technology for the SDGs, and uses its own campuses as a living laboratory where students can test practical solutions.
Campus operations. The University cuts its greenhouse gas emissions and energy use, measures its water and waste, reduces plastic and single-use items, and buys ethically and locally where it can.
People and partnerships. TUIT treats equality, inclusion and decent work as part of sustainability, engages with neighbouring mahallas and local government, and contributes its expertise to national SDG policy.
