On January 4-9, 2019, the semifinal and final stages of the “CTF.UZ” (Capture the Flag) competition on information security are held at Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi. The tournament was organized by the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan.
From November 15 to December 25, 2018, qualifying rounds were held in 11 regions of the country. The competition was attended by university students, students of vocational colleges and lyceums, etc.
In addition to these competitions, skill schools were organized. Only 250 participants from all over the Republic were recommended for participation in the final part of the competition. The participants of the competition, i.e. young programmers have to solve cryptographic tasks, encryption tasks, and task related to information security. The assignments were compiled by information security specialists, considering that young programmers could perform them in any programming language. Winners will be determined by the results of the final stage. The sponsors allocated cash prizes for the winners, 15 million sums for the first place, 10 million for the second place, 5 million for the third place. Representatives of the ZOʻR.TV channel will be invited to cover the awards ceremony.
