Asadjon Khodjayev was born on September 3, 1970, in the Chimkent region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
 
He holds a higher education. In 1993, he graduated from the Tashkent Electrotechnical Institute of Communications, and in 2001 – from the Academy of State Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. His specialties are telecommunication engineering and a master's degree in economics.
From 1995 to 2001, he worked at the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the central office of the Uzbek Agency of Post and Telecommunications. From 2001 to 2003, he served as the First Deputy General Director of the State Joint-Stock Company "Uzbekistan Post" and First Deputy Director of the “Uzinfocom” Center for the Development and Implementation of Computer and Information Technologies.
 
In 2003–2004, he worked as a Leading Consultant in the Apparatus of the National Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and as Deputy Project Manager for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies and Information Security.
 
From 2004 to 2011, he served as Deputy General Director of the Uzbek Agency of Communications and Informatization; in 2011–2012 – as General Director of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan; in 2012–2017 – as Director of the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi; in 2017 – as Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Deputy State Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Head of the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
 
Since December 2017, he has served as the First Deputy Head of the Scientific-Educational Memorial Complex named after the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
 
Since August 2018 — he has worked as Director of the Center for Assistance in Ensuring Information Security and Public Order under the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, and as Head of the State Inspectorate for Supervision in the Sphere of Informatization and Telecommunications.
 
Since July 29, 2020, he has been serving as Director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
 
He is married and has four children.
