Within the framework of the international summit “Global Future Higher Education Summit: A New Ecosystem for AI-Driven Industry-Academia Collaborative Talent Development”, held in Shenzhen, China, a meeting took place between Professor B. Makhkamov, Rector of Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, and Bi Xiaohan, Director of the International Centre for Innovation in Higher Education (UNESCO-ICHEI), operating under the auspices of UNESCO.

📑 During the meeting, a memorandum was signed to implement a project aimed at establishing an online education network for Central Asian universities at TUIT in cooperation with the Uzbekistan National Network of the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE). The project also envisages engaging leading educational institutions of the region, developing an artificial intelligence ecosystem, and transforming the university into a regional hub.

♻️ In addition, the parties discussed ongoing cooperation projects between TUIT and UNESCO-ICHEI and considered opportunities for expanding collaboration into new areas.

‼️ For reference, since 2023, Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi has been serving as the national centre of IIOE in Uzbekistan. The IIOE initiative, launched by UNESCO-ICHEI, promotes cooperation in digital education and talent development among higher education institutions and industry partners across countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
