On September 27, the Third Turkey-Uzbekistan Education Forum began in Istanbul. The forum is attended by rectors from around 30 higher education institutions from Uzbekistan and nearly 60 university leaders from Turkey.
The event was opened by the Head of the Department of Social Development of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Council of Higher Education Adil Abdurakhmanov, Head of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey Erol Ozvar, Rector of Istanbul Technical University Hassan Mandal.
It is noteworthy that in recent years, thanks to the political will and efforts of the leaders of both countries, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey has reached a completely new level. Collaboration between universities is expanding rapidly, with the number of cooperation agreements between institutions exceeding 150.
In the past three years, nearly 800 Uzbek teachers and researchers have been sent to Turkey for professional development, internships, seminars, and training. Additionally, more than 500 Turkish teachers have been involved in organizing academic processes at universities in Uzbekistan. This academic year, nearly 600 students are studying through joint Double Degree programs established between the universities of both countries.
As part of the forum, it is expected that around 50 agreements, contracts, and memorandums focused on enhancing university collaboration between the two nations will be signed.
