TUIT Scientist Wins Prize at International AI Hackathon

An associate professor of Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, PhD Saida Aldiyarovna Tastanova, participated as an expert in an international AI hackathon held within the framework of Digital Qazaqstan 2026, organised by the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event took place in the city of Shymkent, Kazakhstan. During the hackathon, the following innovative project was presented:
“An artificial intelligence system capable of reading the human genome and transforming DNA mutations into medical solutions.”

This project is designed to:

automatically analyse genomic mutations;

accelerate diagnostic processes;

improve the accuracy of disease detection;

reduce the workload of medical specialists.


According to the final results of the hackathon, the project won third place, earning official recognition among the prize-winning projects.

In addition, investment was attracted for the further development of the project, and it was specially recognised as an innovative technological solution.
