
The Times Higher Education (THE) international ranking agency has officially published the Asia University Rankings – 2025 results (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2025/regional-ranking#!/length/25/locations/UZB/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats)
This ranking annually evaluates higher education institutions across Asian countries based on the following criteria:
🔸 Quality and impact of scientific research
🔹 Quality of education
♦️ International outlook (global engagement of students and academic staff)
🔹 Citation impact of academic publications
🔹 Industry income (knowledge transfer and innovation activities)
ℹ️ The ranking highlights not only the scientific capacity of universities but also their regional and global influence.
📈 This year, for the first time, three universities from Uzbekistan earned recognition in the prestigious ranking:
🏛 Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers – ranked 201–250
🏛 National University of Uzbekistan – ranked 501–600
🏛 Tashkent University of Information Technologies – ranked 601+
⭐️ One key aspect of this ranking is that only universities that meet the rigorous criteria set by THE can participate. These include: demonstrated innovative approaches, strong scientific outputs, active international collaborations, sustainable development achievements over the past five years and inclusion in the global TOP-1000+ universities list
✔️ This result shows that it is an effective result of the positive reforms and changes being carried out in the higher education system of Uzbekistan.
