
On June 18, the prestigious international ranking agency Times Higher Education (THE) announced the results of the Impact Rankings 2025. According to the results, Uzbekistan's higher education institutions demonstrated the highest indicators in the region, becoming the absolute leader in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The agency assessed universities’ contributions to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. A total of 59 universities from Uzbekistan were included in the ranking, which is the highest figure in the region.
Notably, 12 universities of Uzbekistan earned places in the Top 1000 of the global rankings, including 3 universities that ranked in the 201–300 band — the highest group among Uzbek institutions:

In 2022, this number increased to 30.
In 2023, it rose to 47.
In 2024, it reached 53 institutions.
The 2025 result confirms Uzbekistan’s steady progress and growing global presence in higher education and sustainable development initiatives.
