According to Presidential Decree No. PQ-430 of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 12, 2024, a new Zarafshan Faculty of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi (TUIT) is set to be established to enhance the training of qualified ICT specialists in the regions. This initiative is aimed in particular at providing access to higher education for nearly 150,000 residents of Zarafshan city, Uchkuduk, and Tomdi districts by creating educational opportunities closer to home.
🏛 On May 5, a working group led by the Rector of TUIT visited Zarafshan city in Navoi region to assess the progress in launching the new faculty. During the visit, buildings designated for the faculty were inspected, and specific objectives were outlined to ensure proper learning conditions for students and teaching staff, as well as to actively involve youth in the field of information technologies.
🗒 The Zarafshan Faculty will officially begin its operations in the 2025–2026 academic year. Education will be delivered in a distance-learning format and conducted by experienced professors and instructors from the university.
