Place of Birth: Tashkent city
Academic Title: Academician
Education: Moscow Higher Technical School named after N.E. Bauman
Field: Information Technology
Specialization: Informatics, including computer networks

Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mirzayan Mirzaakhmedovich Kamilov is 80 years old. He is a well-known scientist, public figure, and talented organizer. With a 56-year creative and fruitful work experience, he has made a significant contribution to the development of theoretical foundations of informatics, systems analysis, control, data processing, automation, technological process management, mathematical modeling, and software and mathematical support of computing systems. He has played an important role in the establishment of informatics as an independent scientific field in Uzbekistan.

M.M. Kamilov was born on October 17, 1936, in the city of Tashkent in an intellectual family. In 1960, after graduating with honors from the Moscow Higher Technical School named after N.E. Bauman in the specialty “Computing Machines”, he started his career as a senior engineer at the “Computing Technology” department of the Romanovsky Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.

In 1967, he defended his Ph.D. thesis, and in 1974 he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. In 1977, he received the academic title of Professor. In 1989, he became a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and in 1994, he was elected a full member (academician) in the field of Informatics.

As a scientist with diverse knowledge, he identified key theoretical and practical problems in the development of modern information technologies, ensuring the reliability of results and their practical implementation. His modeling methods allow for deep analysis of processes, optimal decision-making, and effective system management at various levels. His fundamental research on “Theory of information and cognitive systems based on partial precedent and its application to intelligent data analysis” has attracted special attention. These studies help evaluate random information in advance for decision-making based on modern approaches. His theoretical developments have been effectively applied in chemical technology, pattern recognition, and other processes.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

M.M. Kamilov is the author of 6 monographs and over 350 scientific articles. Under his supervision, 17 doctoral and more than 35 candidate dissertations have been defended.

He has made a significant contribution to the implementation of the “National Program for Personnel Training.” For many years, he headed the department (currently "Software Engineering") he established at the Tashkent State Technical University, where he taught subjects such as research methods and intelligent data analysis.

Academician M.M. Kamilov has served as Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and Director of the Institute of Systems Research, making a valuable contribution to the development of informatics in the country.

Currently, he leads the "Pattern Recognition" laboratory at the Center for Development of Software and Hardware Complexes under the Tashkent University of Information Technologies. He is a member of the Scientific Council and Special Council of the center, and of the editorial boards of the journals “Informatics and Energy Problems” and the international scientific-technical journal “Chemical Technology. Control and Management.” He is also a professor at the "Software Engineering" department at TUIT and actively participates in the university’s scientific and educational processes.

On behalf of the scientific community and the editorial team, we sincerely congratulate the renowned scientist, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Mirzayan Mirzaakhmedovich Kamilov on his 80th birthday. We wish him long life, good health, and creative success in his scientific endeavors.
