Within the framework of state programs related to scientific activity, competitions for fundamental, applied, and innovative projects are carried out in accordance with the requirements defined in the Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further improve the regulatory and legal framework for the development of scientific research and innovative activities" No. 133 dated March 9, 2020, and "On measures to organize the management system of scientific and innovative activity" No. 545 dated August 27, 2021.
A scientific project is a set of measures formed to solve a scientific problem, indicating the goals and objectives, executors and deadlines, sources and means. Scientific projects may aim to find a scientific or technical solution to a stated problem, or to obtain new technologies and launch new types of services.
Based on the set goals and objectives and the form of implementation, scientific projects are divided into the following types:
Fundamental projects;
Applied projects;
Innovative projects;
Fundamental, applied and innovative projects are funded on a competitive basis, and in some cases outside the competition according to established procedures.
Fundamental Research
Research aimed at obtaining new knowledge about the basic laws of nature, society, and human structure, formation, and development, the interrelationship between them, as well as the study of objects created as a result of specific activities, specializing in theoretical and/or experimental research. The implementation period of fundamental research projects can be up to five years.
Applied Research
Research aimed at achieving practical goals and solving specific tasks, mainly using new knowledge and results of fundamental research. The implementation period of applied projects can be up to three years.
Innovative Projects
Research aimed at the creation and production of innovations, having a defined duration, infrastructure, executors, sources, and volume of financing. The implementation period of innovation projects can be up to two years.
