Competitions of fundamental, practical and innovative projects within the framework of state programs related to scientific activity are regulated by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further improve the regulatory framework for the development of scientific research and innovative activity" dated March 9, 2020 No. 133 and "Scientific and on measures to organize the management system of innovative activities" will be implemented in accordance with the requirements established in the decisions No. 545 of August 27, 2021.
A scientific project is a set of measures and activities designed to solve a scientific problem, specifying goals and tasks, performers and deadlines, sources and tools. Scientific projects can be focused on finding a scientific or technical solution to a given problem or acquiring new technologies and establishing new types of services.
Based on the set goals and tasks, the form of implementation, scientific projects are divided into the following types:
- Fundamental projects;
- Practical projects;
- Innovative projects;
Fundamental, practical and innovative projects are financed on the basis of competition, in some cases, out of competition.
Fundamental research
theoretical and (or) experimental study specializing in the acquisition of new knowledge about the basic laws of the structure, formation and development of nature, society and man, their interrelationship, as well as the study of objects created as a result of certain activities are studies aimed at conducting. The duration of fundamental research projects can be up to five years.
Practical studies
to achieve practical goals and to solve specific tasks, it is mainly research aimed at applying new knowledge and the results of fundamental research. The implementation period of practical projects can be up to three years.
Innovation projects
are researches aimed at creation and production of innovation with implementation period, infrastructure, executors, source of financing and volume. The duration of innovation works can be up to two years.
