Sustainability and SDG Report 2025 — SDG 1 No Poverty

Progress in 2025

In 2025 TUIT kept its support for students from low-income families at the 2024 level or above, and widened help for local start-ups through the Incubation Center and the new Kelajakka Qadam centre.

This chapter of the annual Sustainability and SDG Report of Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi reports progress against SDG 1, No Poverty, for the year 2025. Figures cover the main campus in Tashkent; activities of the regional branches are mentioned where relevant.

What we did in 2025

Financial support. Students from families in the Unified Register of Social Protection, orphans and students who have lost their parents’ support received an additional scholarship, free meals, priority for dormitory places and free legal and psychological counselling. Eligibility was reassessed each semester.

International access. Citizens of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan paid half the normal tuition fee, citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan 70%, and citizens of Egypt and Pakistan 80%.

Start-ups and employment. The TUIT Incubation Center offered free mentoring, workshops and space to students, graduates and young entrepreneurs, and awarded grants from the University’s annual start-up fund. In February 2025 TUIT hosted the forum on developing the start-up ecosystem with universities and opened a “Kelajakka Qadam” centre under Presidential Decree PQ-61 to help graduates find work and start businesses.
