Biography

Shuhrat Muhammadjonovich Sodiqov (born in 1969, Tashkent region, Uzbek SSR, USSR) — Uzbek statesman, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 2018 to 2021.

Born in 1969 in Tashkent region. In 1992, he graduated from the Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute. In 2004, he graduated from the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, and in 2006, he completed a master’s degree. In 2008, he graduated from the Academy of State and Social Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and earned a master's degree in economics.

In 1992, Shuhrat Sodiqov began his career as an engineer-economist at the Jizzakh Radiotelephone Communication Center. From 1993 to 1997, he worked as the technical director for computer equipment maintenance and service at the “Nur” small enterprise. From 1997 to 2002, he served as inspector, first-category engineer, second-category engineer, and acting head of the Tashkent City State Communication Inspection of the State Communication Inspectorate.

From 2004 to 2006, he worked as a lead specialist in the Information and Analytical Department for Information Systems and Telecommunications under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Since 2006, he served as deputy, and from November 6, 2008, he worked as the General Director of JSC “Uztelecom.”

On March 25, 2010, Sodiqov was appointed Head of the Information and Analytical Department for Information Systems and Telecommunications under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From August 1, 2017, he worked as the Director of the National Project Management Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From August 8, 2018, replacing Azim Akhmatkhojaev, he served as Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
