Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) strengthens sustainable development through applied research, innovation-driven activities, industry collaboration, and international partnerships. Sustainability is integrated into research, teaching, and institutional operations, with a strong interdisciplinary focus on information technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and engineering solutions.

Sustainability Research

TUIT actively promotes sustainability-oriented research through interdisciplinary projects and institutional research programs aligned with national and global development priorities.

According to official university data, during recent years the University has implemented:

  • 3 fundamental research projects (total value: 4.9 billion UZS)
  • 10 applied research projects (total value: 9.15 billion UZS)
  • 12 innovative research projects (total value: 9.82 billion UZS)

2 international collaborative research projects (total value: 1.46 billion UZS)

In addition, more than 42 contractual research agreements worth over 5.0 billion UZS have been concluded, demonstrating strong alignment between academic research and practical implementation.

Research activities are directly connected to sustainability-related areas such as:

  • energy systems and efficiency
  • climate-related technologies
  • digital health systems
  • smart infrastructure and interdisciplinary innovation




The University also engages in international collaborative research initiatives. For example, TUIT has signed a trilateral cooperation agreement with Kookmin University (Republic of Korea) and KT&G Global TAS, enabling joint research projects, academic–industry cooperation, and SDG-aligned capacity-building activities.

Innovation

Innovation is a core component of TUIT’s research ecosystem. The University actively supports startup development, commercialization of research outcomes, and student-led innovation initiatives.

TUIT operates an Innovation and Startup Incubation Center, providing continuous access for students and researchers to develop technology-based solutions and entrepreneurial projects.

  • 22 spin-off companies have been established based on research and innovation activities


These outcomes demonstrate the University’s ability to translate academic research into real-world technological solutions and strengthen its innovation ecosystem.

Global Partnerships
