From January 13-16, 2026, an international workshop and consortium meeting is being held at the Turin Polytechnic University (TPTU) in Tashkent as part of the Erasmus+ CBHE DEBSEUz project.
The event is dedicated to the theme "Solar Energy for Uzbekistan - Education, Innovation, Industry" and aims to develop the integration of education, innovation, and industry in the field of solar energy in Uzbekistan.
📌 Participants:
• Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• Ministry of Energy, Uzenergoinspektsiya;
• Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan;
• Leading higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Europe (including TUIT, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, Karakalpak State University, Andijan State University, Fergana Technical University, Jizzakh Polytechnic University, Politecnico di Torino, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Universidade de Évora).
📌Discussed issues:
• Newly established bachelor's degree programs;
• Activities of innovative laboratories;
• Green energy technologies;
• Integration of science and production;
• Project sustainability, quality control and monitoring;
• Financial management and communication strategy.
During the event, EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar, emphasized that sustainable energy is an important area of cooperation between the EU and Central Asia and expressed his commitment to the development of knowledge exchange and partnership.
📌 This workshop and consortium meeting is a confident start to the DEBSEUz project, serving to take solar energy education, research, and industrial cooperation in Uzbekistan to a new level.
