ON AUGUST 30, 2025, THE 1 (754)-TH MEETING OF THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF THE TASHKENT UNIVERSITY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES NAMED AFTER MUHAMMAD AL-KHWARIZMI WAS HELD
On August 30, 2025, the 1 (754)-th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi was held. During the meeting, key areas of the university's activities were comprehensively discussed, including preparation for the 2025/2026 academic year, improvement of the educational process, approval of regulatory documents, and organizational matters.
At the beginning of the meeting, the issue of organizing spiritual and educational events dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan at a high level was considered. In this regard, the importance of implementing a comprehensive plan of activities aimed at strengthening patriotism among students, promoting national values, and increasing their social activity was emphasized.
After that, the state of preparation of the university for the 2025/2026 academic year was analyzed. Specific tasks were identified to ensure the effective organization of the educational process, strengthening of the material and technical base, efficient formation of the teaching staff, and wider implementation of modern pedagogical technologies.
During the meeting, the issue of approving the list of students eligible for state grants based on Resolution No. 149 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan was also considered and approved in accordance with established procedures.
As one of the key issues, the curricula and academic programs for the 2025/2026 academic year were approved. According to this decision, it is planned to organize the educational process in the first year of full-time education in 22 bachelor's programs and 31 master's specialties. In addition, the educational process will be organized in 11 fields under the distance learning format.
It was noted that new academic programs have been developed for newly established fields such as “Business Management,” “Marketing,” and “Electronics and Instrumentation,” as well as specialties including “Computer Systems and Software,” “Information Systems,” and “Security of Television, Radio Communication and Broadcasting Systems.” These curricula were developed in accordance with the relevant orders of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and improved based on the experience of TOP-300 international universities and the requirements of the local labor market. Additionally, new course programs and syllabi have been developed for certain specialties.
Another important issue discussed at the meeting was the approval of the Regulation of the Educational and Methodological Department of the university. This regulation was developed based on Order No. 252 dated July 3, 2025, of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It covers the structure and management of the department, its goals and objectives, functions, rights and responsibilities, as well as the duties of its staff. The regulation was reviewed and approved by the university administration and relevant structural units, and subsequently approved by the Council.
During the meeting, a number of organizational issues were also considered. These included the approval of the Council’s work plan for the 2025/2026 academic year, granting permission for assistant teachers to deliver lectures, organizing additional admission quotas for distance learning, providing data to the “ICT Indicators” platform created by the Ministry of Digital Technologies, ensuring targeted and efficient use of financial resources, strengthening financial discipline, and making amendments and additions to the composition of the Council.
At the end of the meeting, appropriate decisions were made on all discussed issues, and responsible persons were assigned to ensure their implementation. Overall, this meeting of the Council played an important role in improving the quality of education at the university, enhancing the management system, and ensuring thorough preparation for the new academic year.
