Biography

Professor of the Department of Higher Mathematics at Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Abdullayev Rustambay Zayirovich, is 65 years old. Rustambay Zayirovich is a well-known scientist, distinguished educator, academic figure, and talented organizer. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Abdullayev Rustambay Zayirovich embodies both a gifted scholar and an excellent mentor for young talents. He was born on June 7, 1956, in the city of Tashauz, Republic of Turkmenistan. His father, Zayir Abdullaevich Abdullayev, was a professor and Doctor of Philosophy, and his mother was a school mathematics teacher who inspired his love for mathematics from childhood.

The professor’s entire life is closely connected with scientific and pedagogical activities. After graduating from the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, he was invited to the Department of Functional Analysis at Tashkent State University for internship. In 1981, after completing the internship, he entered the graduate program at the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Under the supervision of Professor Shavkat Ayupov, he successfully defended his candidate dissertation in December 1984. His dissertation was devoted to the development of integration theory in Jordan algebras. He constructed and described Lp-spaces related to specific normal states in semi-finite JBW algebras. In 1982, R.Z. Abdullayev received an award for the best scientific report among young researchers. He was also part of a scientific group led by academician Sh.A. Ayupov that was awarded the "All-Union Prize in Science and Technology" for young scientists.

In 1996, R.Z. Abdullayev entered the doctoral program at the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and successfully completed it. In 1999, he defended his doctoral dissertation, which laid the foundation for a new direction in the integration theory of operator algebras. He introduced and studied non-commutative and non-associative Arens algebras and solved the problem of operator classification. In recent years, Professor Abdullayev has been actively cooperating with scientists from the University of Bonn as part of joint research projects. He is a recipient of DFG and DAAD grants. In addition, he has exchanged academic and scientific experiences with specialists from other CIS countries and visited leading universities around the world, including Bonn, California, Singapore (Nanyang Polytechnic), Kazan, Novosibirsk, and others. He actively participates in national and international conferences, meetings, and roundtable discussions, making significant contributions to the development of mathematics. Currently, he is introducing and studying several new algebras within the framework of von Neumann algebras.

Professor Abdullayev’s active teaching career began immediately after graduation. Starting as a secondary school mathematics teacher, Rustambay Zayirovich began working in 1986 at the Department of Methods of Teaching Mathematics at Tashkent State University. In 1993, he moved to Urgench as part of a program to strengthen the academic staff in Uzbekistan’s regions. He worked at this university as a lecturer, associate professor, and department head. Until 2003, he served as Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations. Later, he worked as an associate professor and then dean at the Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami. From 2007 to 2009, he was the Director of the Academic Qori Niyoziy Scientific-Methodological Center.

Currently, he serves as a professor at the Department of Higher Mathematics of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies. Professor R.Z. Abdullayev has published more than 70 scientific articles. He is the author of several academic and methodological publications, such as “Selected Topics in Functional Analysis” and “Life and Work of Academician T.N. Qori Niyoziy.”

Professor Abdullayev also pays great attention to educational work and conducts scientific research with talented young mathematicians. He actively involves sponsors, develops projects for participation in grant programs and scientific competitions, and cooperates closely with others. His projects have twice won competitions held by the Public Fund for Support of NGOs and Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The aim of these projects is to assist young people in realizing their creative and intellectual potential by involving them in scientific activities and providing additional opportunities. All these efforts serve as strong motivation for young talented mathematicians in their journey of self-realization.

We wish Rustambay Zayirovich a long life, good health, family happiness, and continuous inspiration in sharing his knowledge with students and remaining a respected mentor among them.
