On March 23rd a competition among the girls "Women Technology and Innovation Week-2018" was held at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi. On March 23-28, 2018 the large-scale technological program "Tec novation Uzbekistan" was held at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi and the Week of technological entrepreneurship of women began. Leading experts of IT and technology business of Silicon Valley and Central Asia: mentor and arbiter of the international programs "Tech Women va Tec novation" of California Rekha Pay, regional ambassador and initiator of "Tec novation Kazakhstan" Diana Tsoy, an expert Bakhtigul Kasymova from Kazakhstan took part in the work of the project "Women Technology and Innovation Week" on primary start-up projects. Currently, 950 students study in TUIT. The management of the university plans to attract even more girls in the field of information technology. Such international competitions contribute to the achievement of this goal. The US Ambassador of Uzbekistan Pamela Spratlen, the head of the United Nations Office in Uzbekistan Helena Frazer, the chairman of the Republican Association for the Support of Families and Children Inkilob Yusupova also took part in the competition.
Women's experts in the field of STEM and digital business of Uzbekistan also took part in the events of the competition. The seminars cover technological start-ups, social entrepreneurship, mentors and career. Technovation-2018 participants will be trained in individual and practical sessions. During the event, teams and mentors will have an idea of the best foreign experience.
A one-day trip of teams to the Center for High Technologies is planned. Seminars and schools of mastery of the Week will be held in Tashkent (March 23-25, TUIT, High Technology Center and Inha University in Tashkent), in Urgench (March 26), in Khiva (March 27). All events of the Week are for participants and mentors of the program "Tec novation Uzbekistan-2017/2018"; session for all comers is held March 25, 2018 in the form of a spring conference "Startup Mix".
