In order to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set in accordance with paragraph 10 of the work plan of the Cabinet of Ministers for the first half of 2016, approved by the minutes of the meeting of the Presidium of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 25, 2016 No.5 “Information security” and departments of specialties at the faculty of TUIT also, based on the statement of the technical council on the security of information communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 18, 2016 for No.3 on the organization of the Faculty of Information Security in TUIT and the decision of the Council of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi dated August 29, 2016 No. 1 (661) on the issue of making changes to the organizational structure of the university department "Information security" as part of the faculty of "Computer Engineering" was transferred to the faculty of "Information Security", on this basis the departments "Information Security" and "Cryptography and Discrete Mathematics" were created.

By decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 15, 2020 No. PP-4751 “On measures to further improve the cybersecurity system of the Republic of Uzbekistan” and dated October 6, 2020 No. PP-4851 “On measures to further improve the education system, develop scientific research in the field of information technologies and their integration with the IT industry ”, By the decrees of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications dated September 24, 33-8 / 6733 and September 30, 2021 and by the order of the rector of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi No. 995, the Faculty of “Information Security” was renamed into the Faculty of “Cybersecurity”.

Cybersecurity Faculty’s Mission Statement:

Our mission as the Cybersecurity faculty is to empower the next generation of cybersecurity professionals with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to safeguard digital assets and protect against emerging cyber threats. Through an innovative curriculum, hands-on learning experiences, and cutting-edge research, we aim to cultivate a community of ethical and proficient cybersecurity practitioners equipped to address the evolving challenges of the digital age. Our commitment extends beyond the classroom, as we strive to foster collaboration with industry partners, government agencies, and the broader cybersecurity community to advance the field and promote a safer digital ecosystem for all. We are dedicated to continuous improvement, ensuring our students stay ahead of the latest trends and technologies in cybersecurity. By nurturing critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a strong ethical foundation, we prepare our graduates to be leaders in the cybersecurity landscape and champions of a secure digital future.
