  • June 28, 1955

    • The Tashkent Institute of Electrotechnical Communications began its activities (by order of the Minister of Communications of the former USSR No. 487) - acting. Rector Matskevich N.B.

    In 1957

    • M.I. Astakhov was appointed rector. In 1957/1958.

    In 1957/1958

    • The Faculty of Radio Communications and Broadcasting, as well as evening and distance learning departments, have been created.

    In 1961

    • The institute moved to a new building.
    • The training and production base was commissioned.

    In 1965

    • Number of students: 4000 people.

  • In 1966-1970

    • The Tashkent Institute of Electrical Engineering and Communications trained 1,900 telecommunication engineers.

    In 1966

    • After the Tashkent earthquake, 3 pavilions were installed on the territory of the institute for conducting classes.

    In 1966

    • 2 residential buildings for students with 480 beds each were put into operation (former Jahan Obidov Street - now Bogishamol).

    In 1969

    • On the basis of the faculty of telephone and telegraph communications, the faculties of automatic telecommunications and multi-channel telecommunications were created.

    In 1972

    • S.N. Kolesov was appointed rector of the institute.

    In 1973

    • A house with 40 apartments, a two-story student kitchen and 2 special buildings for a computer center were built on the territory of the institute
  • In 1976

    • D.A. Abdullayev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician, was appointed Rector of the Tashkent Institute of Electrotechnical Communications.

    In 1979

    • Branches of the correspondence faculty of the Tashkent Institute of Electrotechnical Communications were created in the cities of Fergana, Frunze (now Bishkek), Dushanbe and Almaty.

    since 1974

    • Every year, 400 students from the countries of Uzbekistan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan participate in the “Student Construction Team”.

    In 1979

    • The library collection of the Tashkent Institute of Electrical Engineering and Communications has been replenished with more than 300 thousand books and magazines.

    In 1982

    • 3 9-storey residential buildings for students were put into operation.
  • Since 1986/1987.

    • Acceptance of citizens of Asia, Africa and South America has begun

    In 1990, in the institute operated

    • 27 departments, 75 training centers, 17 research laboratories, a computer center and 3 computer rooms, color television, a training center.

    In 1991

    • A branch of the university was created in the city of Termez

    In 1991

    • The institute has created a postgraduate course in 3 specialties, the defense of candidate dissertations is allowed

    In 1992

    • T.D. Radzhabov, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Academician, was appointed Rector of TEIS.

    In 1993

    • A special faculty has been created at TIEC for the training of communications officers

    In 1994

    • The Central Asian Telecommunications Training Center was created at the institute

    Since 1994/1995

    • The institute has begun training personnel in the field of telecommunications, television, radio broadcasting and radio communications, and management.
  • In 1996

    • Based on the order of the Ministry of Communications of the Republic, the Faculty of Engineering and Economics was created at the university

    In 1997

    • A lyceum-boarding school began its activities at the institute

    In 1999

    • The Institute trained 808 engineers and bachelors and gave them a path to life

    In 1999

    • Postgraduate studies are open at TIEC.

    In 2002

    • By Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, TIEC was renamed into Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT)

    In 2002/2003

    • Two new directions and specialties; The preparation of bachelors and masters in the field of e-commerce and information security has begun.

    In 2005

    • Regional branches of TUIT have been established in the cities of Karshi, Nukus, Samarkand, Urgench and Fergana.
  • In 2007

    • The Uzbekistan-Korea Information Exchange Center was opened at TUIT. Created on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding with TUIT and the Korean National News Agency (NIA).

    year 2009

    • By the corresponding Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a new faculty “Television Technologies” was opened at TUIT.

    2010

    • The NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS technology center was opened at the Department of Electronics of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

    year 2013

    • By Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-1942, a foreign language is included in entrance exams for technical areas.

    2013/2015.

    • In order to further improve the computer literacy of the population, computer literacy groups “Building Youth 2013”, “Building Youth 2014” and “Building Youth 2015” have been organized at TUIT and its branches.

    year 2013

    • 09.2013 State Communications Committee. According to Order No. 366 “On the creation of the “Electronic Government” training center at TUIT. More than 9,195 employees of state and local government bodies were trained at the training center.
  • In 2017

    • Tashkent University of Information Technologies is named after the great scientist Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.

    In 2018

    • TUIT was one of the first among state universities to switch to a credit education system.

    In 2019

    • A joint Uzbek-Belarusian Faculty of Information Technologies has been created at TUIT.

    In 2019

    • The educational media center was opened jointly with TUIT and JICA.

    In 2020

    • A “Data Center” has been opened at TUIT.

    In 2021

    • The TUIT Nurafshon branch began its activities in the Tashkent region.

    In 2022

    • The TUIT Incubation Center has been opened at TUIT.

    In 2022

    • Students were admitted to TUIT in the form of distance learning.

    In 2022

    • A modern academic building “F” was put into operation at TUIT.

    In 2023

    • A new modern sports complex was put into operation at TUIT.
