ANOTHER MEETING IN EUROPE WITHIN THE ERASMUS + PROGRAM

The Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi is currently working as a coordinator and executor of many international projects in our country to study the experience of European countries and apply it in the educational process. One of them is MechaUZ: Modernization of Mechatronics and Robotics for Bachelor degree in Uzbekistan through the international project Innovative Ideas and Digital Technology.

The project is designed for 2020-2023, which aims studying the existing state of higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of bachelor training in "Mechatronics and Robotics", opening new educational directions based on modern requirements and suggestions, modernizing the existing educational direction, equipping the training laboratories with modern materials and technical resources, and training the Uzbek trainers.

A face-to-face meeting was planned to be held at Vilnius Gedimino Technical University (VILNIUS TECH is ranked 751-800 in the QS World University Rankings 2022) in Vilnius, Lithuania from May 30 to June 5, 2022 to monitor the implementation of the above tasks and improve the skills of teachers in the field of Mechatronics and Robotics, and the meeting has stared on May 30 this year, as expected.

Representatives from 6 European universities and 6 higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan are participating in the meeting.

A total of 35 representatives from Uzbekistan, including 5 from Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Projects Coordinator of International Relations Department Javlonbek Abdujalilov, Dean of Computer Engineering department Halimjon Khujamatov, Associate professor of Data Communication Networks and Systems department Doston Khasanov, Associate professor of Artificial Intelligence department Ibrahimbek Yusupov and PhD Student of Data Communication Networks and Systems department Yernazar Reypnazarov are taking part in the meeting.

The meeting was opened in high spirits by the rector of the university Romualdas Kliukas, who expressed his sincere condolences to the delegates and wished them success in their work.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics of the University, Justinas Gargasas, also thanked everyone for their visit and said that the necessary conditions will be created for the meeting to be held at a high level. Afterwards, Aušra Pelÿdienÿ, Director of International Relations at the University, will give a presentation about Vilnius Gedimino University, noting that the university is ready to work with all Uzbek partner institutions.

During the speeches, Anastasios Ntabizas, a representative of the South-Eastern European Research Center, said that the agenda of the meeting included discussion of important tasks such WP2 - Development of the new BSc Program, WP3 - Development of the new training courses and organizing training for UZB teaching and administrative staff, and engineers, as well as presentations on the activities of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in this area.
