TUIT takes part every year in the national “Yashil Makon” (Green Space) programme. In 2025 the University’s staff and students planted more than 900 trees in Tashkent.

On 4 December 2025 TUIT staff, led by the University’s management, planted 170 fruit and 130 ornamental trees at the University under the programme (TUIT official Telegram, t.me/tuituz_official/28373). On 9 December 2025 staff planted 500 juniper seedlings at a charity hashar in Oqtepa mahalla (t.me/tuituz_official/28442). On 24 September 2025, for TUIT’s 70th anniversary, a Friendship Garden was planted on campus (t.me/tuituz_official/27175).

On 15 March 2025, TUIT staff and students spent the day in Oqtepa mahalla, Yunusobod district, cleaning the area and planting more than 600 ornamental and fruit trees. In May they planted ornamental flowers around the academic buildings and student dormitories.

Trees cool the streets in Tashkent’s hot summers, improve air quality and provide habitat for birds. Under the Biodiversity and Land Policy approved on 30 August 2024, the University preserves its trees and green areas, replaces any tree that has to be felled lawfully with new native or climate-adapted trees, and increases its green area through the “Yashil makon” programme.
