On December 3, 2025, the final Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of the INMACOM project ("Photonics and Optical Communications") within the framework of the Erasmus+ program was held at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies.
The event was attended by representatives of universities from Belgium, Italy, and Uzbekistan, as well as the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and NEO Uzbekistan.
About the INMACOM project:
The project is aimed at training highly qualified engineers in the field of photonics and optical communication in Uzbekistan.
Consortium composition:
• Ghent University, Vrije University Brussels;
• Polytechnic of Torino;
• TUIT (coordinator), NUUz, SamSU, TUIT Urgench branch
• Non-academic partners: OTFIV, MirSolar LLC, UZTELECOM Khorezm branch.
The following was discussed at the SCM meeting:
• project implementation and final results;
• sustainability strategies;
• introduction of master's degree programs;
• the activities of modern laboratories;
• future exchange of students and teachers;
• expansion of cooperation with industry.
The results of the INMACOM project will have a long-term impact on the development of education and science in Uzbekistan, as well as expand master's programs and strengthen exchange opportunities.
