TUIT’s sustainability policies were approved by decision of the Council of the University on 30 August 2024. The Sustainable Development Policy (TUIT-SP-01) is the framework document; the other seventeen set out specific obligations. Each policy has its own page with the full text, the date of approval, the responsible units and signed PDF copies in English and Uzbek. Each policy is reviewed at least once every two years, and earlier if there are significant changes in legislation or in the activities of the University.

Documents replaced

Each policy states in its final provisions which earlier document or provisions it replaces.

• TUIT-SP-01 Sustainable Development Policy replaces the Sustainable Development Policy to 2033 and Beyond adopted in 2023.
• TUIT-SP-02 Energy and Carbon Management Policy replaces the Energy Conservation Program adopted in 2023.
• TUIT-SP-03 Sustainable Investment and Divestment Policy replaces the Sustainable Investing Policy and the Sustainable Funding/Donations Policy.
• TUIT-SP-04 Water Management Policy replaces the Water Conservation Program adopted in 2023.
• TUIT-SP-05 Waste Management and Recycling Policy replaces the Recycling Program.
• TUIT-SP-06 Policy on Plastics and Single-Use Items replaces the earlier provisions of the University on minimisation of plastic and disposable items.
• TUIT-SP-07 Sustainable and Ethical Procurement Policy replaces the Sustainable Procurement Policy.
• TUIT-SP-08 Sustainable Food Policy replaces the earlier provisions of the University on sustainable catering.
• TUIT-SP-09 Biodiversity and Land Policy replaces the earlier provisions of the University on land and biodiversity.
• TUIT-SP-10 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy replaces the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy adopted in 2022.
• TUIT-SP-11 Anti-Harassment and Protection of Complainants Policy replaces the earlier provisions of the University on harassment and the protection of complainants.
• TUIT-SP-12 Fair Employment Policy replaces the earlier Employment Policy of the University.
• TUIT-SP-13 Family-Friendly Policy replaces the earlier provisions of the University on maternity and family support.
• TUIT-SP-14 Smoke-Free Campus Policy replaces the earlier Smoke-Free Policy of the University.
• TUIT-SP-15 Open Access and Lifelong Learning Policy replaces the earlier Accessible Activities Policy of the University.
• TUIT-SP-16 Stakeholder Engagement Policy replaces the earlier procedures of the University for engagement with local stakeholders.
• TUIT-SP-17 Academic Freedom Policy replaces the earlier provisions of the University on academic freedom.
• TUIT-SP-18 Sustainable Transport Policy replaces the Transportation Policy published on the University website.
