Working with local authorities on planning and affordable housing

Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi works with local self-government bodies (mahalla citizens’ assemblies) of Yunusobod district, where the main campus is located, to give students access to affordable and safe housing. In August 2025 University staff worked with three mahallas to study rental prices, living conditions and safety, and compiled a single electronic list of suitable affordable flats for students. Earlier in 2025 the Rector and University leadership visited students renting in the district to check their housing conditions.

Places in student dormitories are allocated through the my.gov.uz portal under the regulation approved by Resolution No. 376 of the Cabinet of Ministers (14 August 2023), with priority for students who qualify for social benefits.
