Remote farm-plot management

A team led by Dr M. Mirzayeva has developed software that lets farmers monitor and manage their plots remotely: soil moisture, irrigation schedules, fertiliser application and pest control. The aim is to reduce water and fertiliser use while keeping yields stable.

Clean energy on irrigation canals

TUIT staff from the Department of Energy Supply Systems tested a small watermill generator on an irrigation canal in Yuqori Chirchiq district, Tashkent region. It produced up to 2 kWh per hour, enough to power one household or a small pump. The results were shared with farmers in the district as a way to run irrigation equipment without diesel.

Precision agriculture

TUIT staff took part in the Erasmus+ project NICOPA, “New and Innovative Courses for Precision Agriculture”, which developed courses on GIS, remote sensing and big data for farming.
