Dear students!

On behalf of the authority of TUIT, I sincerely congratulate you with the Independence Day of Uzbekistan. August 31, 1991 marked the beginning of a new era in the life of our country. On this day, the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Abduganievich Karimov announced the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Over the past twenty-eight years, our people have achieved great success. Freedom brought to our country development, a new time, new approaches to training and education. In recent years, under the leadership of our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, radical transformations have been carried out.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev pays attention to the development of each sphere. Wide socio-economic transformations are being implemented aimed at improving the well-being of the people and development of society. This is recognized in the global community. The educational system is no exception. On March 15, 2017, by the resolution of the head of our state, Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) was named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi. The Center for the Creation of Hardware and Software Products and Complexes was reorganized into the Scientific and Innovation Center for Information and Communication Technologies at TUIT, whose goal was to prepare high-quality national software products that, are competitive in domestic and foreign markets, considering the real needs of the leading sectors of economy of the Republic. A scholarship named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi was awarded for gifted students of TUIT.

Starting from the academic year 2018-2019, such specialties as the Digital Economy, Antennas and Microwave Devices, Television, Radio Communication and Broadcasting Devices and Systems, and Mobile Communication Systems were opened. Thus, there were 20 specialties of the masters. In 2017, there were only 14 master specialties. 117 TUIT teachers conduct classes in 125 core subjects in English. 2 undergraduate students, 22 undergraduates and 9 doctoral students study at foreign universities. 32 teachers improve their skills in leading foreign universities. Our university takes part in 5 projects within the framework of the Erasmus + program of the European Union. These projects are implemented in the period 2018-2021, a total of only 10 projects. As part of the Scopus Award 2018, Elsevier recognized 2 TUIT teachers as the most successful scientists using the Scopus base. In 2019, a visit of leading teachers and professors from universities of the USA (1), France (1), Germany (1), Finland (1), South America (3), India (2), Belarus (4) is planned to participate in the training and scientific activities. Since October 18, 2018, cooperation agreements were signed with the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications, Novosibirsk State Technical University, Don State Technical University, Tambov State University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics in the framework of the Russian-Uzbek educational forum “New Personnel for New Economy”. From the 2019-2020 academic year, an Uzbek-Belarusian joint faculty of information technologies TUIT-BSUIR begins its activity at our university. In addition, TUIT in accordance with international standards has switched to the credit system of education!
